Millennium Materials, Inc (MMI) is a manufacturer of advanced materials. The company is located in Knoxville, Tennessee with 110,00 square feet of manufacturing space in 6 locations. MMI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dyson Group plc. Key personnel and MMI have been manufacturing composite ceramic materials since 1970 when they developed the first commercial ceramic composite for the nuclear industry. Over the years MMI personnel have made millions of composite ceramic components for use as neutron absorbers in core nuclear reactors without a single failure. These components are manufactured to high levels of precision and quality assurance. MMI personnel have provided some of the most innovative technologies to be developed in composite ceramics to date. MMI personnel were the first to provide a commercial composite in 1970 by a manufacturing process other than expensive hot pressing. MMI has developed technology and products which are truly unique and on the cutting edge of the emerging advance materials market. For some of the products there is no competition. In others competition exists, but the products are inferior to the MMI products. |
